"We are beyond thrilled with the final pictures!"

You Know that gap between buttoned-up headshots and unbuttoned social media?

Progressive businesses understand how important it is to communicate their culture and values to their target markets.

People are moved by stories. So let’s tell yours by bringing your customers behind-the-scenes.

WorkStory creates custom commercial photography so you never have to use a cheesy, boring, cliché stock photo again!

Our photo sessions are on location at your Spokane-area business, and we capture candid moments throughout the day (or days) in the life of your organization. Our style of photography helps you engage your own clientele, showing them the unique way that you deliver your services. With WorkStory, you’ll improve your transparency with your clientele by bridging the gap between buttoned-up headshots and unbuttoned social media.

WorkStory primarily serves businesses in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas, with occasional forays to Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles.

Tanya Goodall Smith is the owner and lead photographer at WorkStory Corporate Photography.

She graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2004. After a decade-long career as a graphic designer and art director, Tanya walked away from it all to pursue her lifelong love of photography.

She has spent the last 15 years perfecting her digital photography skills and style through workshops, college courses and hours of experience. She’s coming back to her creative agency roots, offering what she wished she had at her disposal for clients: an alternative to generic stock photography. Tanya’s experience is broad and her ability to create imagery appropriate for any brand is considered her strong point.

In addition to her past work as a designer for brands like HP, GUESS and Universal Studios Hollywood, Tanya is a talented writer and educator at slrlounge.com and layersmagazine.com, the official magazine for Adobe software. She and her husband and three children have lived in Liberty Lake since 2009 and they absolutely love the Inland Northwest!

Tracy Chappell, a transplant from Southern California, is a classically trained photographer.

She’s our resident expert lighting and event photography specialist. She graduated from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising Photography. We’re thrilled to have her on our team. Her photography journey began at Burbank High School, which led to her eventual career as a product photographer and studio manager for fashion brands like Hautelook and Mai Tai Clothing. Tracy brings a sophisticated editing eye and spontaneous, fun feel to our photo shoots. She lives on the lake in Hayden, Idaho with her seven-year-old daughter, loves alternative/electronic music and is inspired by photography greats like Annie Leibovitz and Mario Testino.

Beth M. Gordon is the yin to our yang, administrative expert.

She works behind the scenes at WorkStory Corporate Photography, making sure everything about the business runs smoothly.

Beth joins us with an extensive administrative background, with experience in medical center fundraising, grant writing, surgery clinic management, accounting office administration and more. She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and is an overall administrative go-to, having completed 100’s of projects over the years.

After many years in Seattle, Beth and her husband returned to Eastern Washington in 2013 to raise their two young children near their families. We’re so excited to have Beth’s left brained, detail oriented self on our team!!!!
